I’m talking about Carnival, of course. It’s already started and it’s going to be good few days of hip hypnotizing music and, inevitably, lots of dancing.

Pomegranate boosts your immune system, lowers blood pressure, is high in fiber AND leaves you with healthy, vibrant, youthful skin. Lemon is high in vitamin C, cucumber is full of vitamin A, K and calcium. Mashed together makes a potent,  healthy, body loving quencher.  Scroll down for full recipe.

Literally, mash everything with a mortar.. and add water. That’s it!

Let it steep in the fridge for a few hours, preferably overnight.

Pomegranate, cucumber, lemon infused detox water

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 2 hours, 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • Half a cucumber, sliced
  • Half a lemon, sliced
  • 2 fresh pomegranates
  • 4 cups of water

Instructions

  1. Seed the pomegranates (see notes on how to)
  2. Place lemon, cucumber and pomegranate seeds in a carafe
  3. Gently mash using a mortar, concentrating on the pomegranate seeds
  4. Add 4 cups of water and stir
  5. Let steep for a few hours, overnight if possible. The longer it infuses, the more goodness your body will receive, the hotter you will feel
  6. Serve cold
